Emerging Technology Office: Innovation Management & Integration

As prime contractor, Markon is supporting one of the Intelligence Community’s premier innovation offices for emerging technology.

The program operates under the auspices of the customer’s CIO and is responsible for the identification and rapid acquisition of technologies that are determined to have significant impact for mission and organization customers.

Markon helped stand-up the Digital Innovation Program in 2016 by aligning strategic plans to mission goals, managing resources, developing the challenge process, and introducing human-centered design principles.

Markon continues to support the 30-person program across their offices in the DC Metro Area and Silicon Valley. Markon recently enhanced the program’s technology research and industry engagement process and is supporting the development of an innovative ventures fund.

Brenda Metzger

Brenda has more than 30 years of experience providing Program Management and IT lifecycle support to the Intelligence Community and Federal clients. Her expertise includes managing IT development, roadmaps, prototyping, and solutioning. She partners with IC agencies to develop practical and efficient integration strategies. Brenda is an expert in cost benefit analyses and performance metrics to support decision making at the highest levels of government. For one IC client, Brenda consolidated over 15 individual contracts into one enterprise-level agreement with a commercial vendor. Her efforts saved the client millions of dollars in both contract and process costs. Her certifications include Project Management Professional, Six Sigma Black Belt, ITIL Foundation, Business Intelligence Professional, and Scrum Master. Brenda earned a Master of National Security Studies from Georgetown University and a BA in International Affairs from the University of Colorado. She joined Markon in 2016.
